Whats the weather like Wednesday
Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to let me know what their part of the sky was doing this time last week. It seems that pretty much everyone was having better weather than we were here in my neck of the woods (North Nottinghamshire, England. Robin Hood country!)
Today has been a different story. It’s been absolutely gloriously sunny and pretty warm considering it’s very nearly November. I’ve had a great day visiting my daughter in Leeds, about an hours drive from me, and having a wander around lovely Roundhay Park. Hard to believe it’s in a city isn’t it?
An eye in the clouds
The iconic London Eye taken from below. Each revolution takes 30 minutes, and the view across London from the top is outstanding!
A storm approaches
Storms on our holiday are a bit of a bore, but they do produce some pretty spectacular skies. This one was taken from Lindisfarne Island in April.
Serendipitous Shires
We woke one Sunday morning to find these beautiful, perfectly turned out, Shire Horses taking part in a ploughing contest in the field across the road from our house.

We visited Northumberland for the first time recently and were stunned by its exquisite empty stretches of dune-lined beaches, it’s many castles, each steeped in history, and the varied wildlife. Even the stormy sky has it’s own beauty!
It’s only three hours away and we will definitely be returning soon!

The Old and the New
I took this picture when we were staying in London for my Graduation a few years ago. Even though it’s taken from the side and you can’t see it clearly, I love this picture of St Paul’s Cathedral, not only for some really wonderful memories of that particular weekend, but because of the way its remarkable architecture looms imperially over the gawdy lights of the shopping mall.
